The Computer Graphics and Immersive Technologies (CGIT) laboratory supports research and development efforts
related to interactive computer graphics and immersive technologies. Activities in the lab range from fundamental
algorithms and mathematical methods to systems and applications development. The construction of prototype and
demonstration systems helps us identify critical problems and evaluate our solutions in a realistic setting.
Students also gain interdisciplinary experience and an enhanced appreciation for the interplay between basic
science research and systems development.
The laboratory is closely aligned with the Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC) at USC, which provides a rich
experimental infrastructure and a multidisciplinary environment composed of people from computer science, electrical
engineering, the social sciences, and the arts.
